But never went anywhere. so many Bands were on TOP during the 80’s as kiss
slipped downward But kiss made a HUGE comeback & still really popular, funny how things work out

I’ve never been able to make up my mind about Gene Simmons. . . . but after watching this, I really do think he’s a very intelligent and talented man. He also seems quite genuine in his regard for Canadian acts. With that in mind I think he will be good for Canadian music.

Gene Simmons has helped tons of significant bands over the years. Just to name a few: Rush and Van Halen. I think he comes by this honestly.

i hope gene succeeds on his masterplan, he has the power and he has the skill to accomplish it. now, isn`t funny that peoples commentaries who tend to refuse and resist this are actually canadians?

I hope for his sake he doesn’t wind up in prison – they have more ‘interesting’ (and painful!) ways of dealing with pompous celebrities than anything Simmons can come up with!

You’re right – Simmons records had several promising hair metal bands on their roster in the 80s – not ONE of them made it big and the primary reason was bad management – Gene was the manager so THAT should tell you something!
This guy has come to Canada to spoon off talented Canadian bands – he wants to keep his lavish lifestyle but cannot maintain his music career much longer! The US music industry is a dump – if he’s SO powerful why not improve the US music scene?

If you really listen to the interview, Gene only says he wants to make this happen so bands will stop leaving Canada. He’s the guy you love to hate. I personally think he’s a scumbag, but you can’t put words in his mouth or it makes you look like an ignorant baby.

By that I mean he a ego-maniac with his head up his ass, with his arrogance. There are many successful artists who aren’t even half as “showy” as he is, what is he trying to prove? That he is the best, richest, most handsome, 60 yr old rock dude in the world? How lame is that(rhetorical question).
