Is this laptop good for music production?

Is a laptop with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz CPU and 4GB of RAM good enough for music production? Running programs like abletonlive with vsts? Is it really necessary to get a faster CPU or 8GB of RAM?

yes this configuration is perfectly ok, but if you want to install some advance softwares then you can go for advance configuration. I find this article at internet may be it is helpful for you. link in the source

    HI,

That laptop is powerful enough to run "most" vsts and Ableton live.

YOu may come into some problems however when you start to use a lot of vsts and cpu/ram intensive p lugins like reverb and delays but it will take a few to get to that stage.

It really depends on what you are doing but you should be fine for most things, just try to stay away from cpu intensive plugins, or at least use as few of them as you can.
