Also cosider a hand held digital recorder. You can place it near the person speaking and will pick up better than a camera mic, which will pick up a lot of white noise from the room. Then you just feed the sound into your editing system and match it with the video. You may want to consider checking our your local public access channel. They should have a studio that you take some sort of orientation class, pay a small fee, and you would be able to use their equipment! You'd just have to make a 30 minute piece to play on public access. That way you can use their lighting/video/audio equipment!
