Recording Nirvana: Something In The Way. (Recording Studio)

http://www.MixMyMusic.net – Curious how they did it? Butch Vig deconstructs Nirvana’s song “Something In The Way”. Awesome video of him behind the console in the studio soloing out sections of the song and talking about how they made the record. This is probably my favorite clip yet. Again, tip of the hat to “Classic Albums”.

    if you’re a bad …
if you’re a bad singer, the only thing that you can do to make it sound “better” is put on all kinds of synthesizers and stuff like you hear in R&B songs, but you’ll just sound like a robot because it would have to go on pretty thick if your singing is bad.

If anything, a recording studio will have mics that are so precise that they’ll just make every imperfection in your bad singing sound worse.

    no… not at all…

The song is about an actual bridge in his home town Aberdeen, Washington, where he claimed to have lived for a period of time in his youth, and where he said he hung out with the town’s homeless people.

Where did you hear it’s about masturbation?

The cheap and expensive cd’s all have the same quality for bit rates and sample rates. The difference is that the expensive ones last longer in storage (Selenium added to the coating) and the expensive ones are less likely to have errors while you are burning onto them.
